Studio Policy

Picture
Creating is what connects us to the Earth and each other.  It is my goal to inspire creativity and promote expression in children (and those children at heart)!  Not only does learning piano give us this outlet to do so, but also teaches us valuable life lessons in responsibility, accountability, multi-tasking, and hard work.  In order to teach effectively, I have set the following policies:

TUITION, PAYMENT, AND SCHEDULE

Yearly tuition for one weekly *private piano or harmonium lesson is divided into equal monthly payments of:
$120/month 30 minutes
$170/month 45 minutes
(plus the cost of books and materials)
*A small discount is given to two or more siblings in a family*

For new students, a $35 initial trial piano lesson of 30 minutes is available to discuss the studio policy and accurately determine you and your child's musical goals before enrolling in Peace Piano Studio! Payment is due at start of lesson.

Your tuition guarantees 47 weekly lessons throughout the calendar year
(There will be no lessons the week of Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Spring Break, and in case of an emergency or severe weather)

Payments are due by the first of the month. I accept cash, check, Venmo, and Paypal payments. Payments not received by the 10th of the month are subject to a $20 late fee.
In the rare case any additional lesson is cancelled by me, it will be credited to your account the following month.

SUMMER LESSONS

In order to continue our learning process and avoid regressing, piano lessons continue through the summer! However, to accommodate vacations, summer schedules are available! Contact me for further details regarding available options.

MISSED PIANO LESSONS

Any lesson that is missed will not be made up or refunded. Given a 24 hour notice of a missed lesson, I will work with you to try and reschedule.  A reschedule lesson is not guaranteed.
However, if your child has to miss his/her lesson, their time is guaranteed! Remember, your tuition covers more than just lesson time with your child.  I can offer Facetime lessons or call to discuss your child's progress during this time.

PRACTICE

Practice is the most important part of your child's progress! Students are asked to practice 5 days a week, all of their assigned music, the correct number of times.  There is no "practice time requirement", but practice typically will take around 15-30 minutes depending on level. I emphasize independent practice at home so I can effectively see your child's problem areas and best help them!  A practice chart will be provided to help track progress.

CONTACT

I'm available to discuss your child's progress at any time. You can leave a message on my phone or simply email me!  I will do my best to return your call or email in a diligent manner.  Any contact to reschedule your child's lesson must be done 24 hours before the missed lesson. Your child's lesson will only be rescheduled if I am contacted 24 hours in advance.

DISMISSAL AND DEENROLLMENT

Unfortunately, I will have to dismiss any student if the following occur:

Failure to make payments on time
Persistent missed lessons
Lack of consistent practice
Behavior issues

If, for any reason, you must stop lessons, a written 30 day notice is required. I will prorate the last month in accordance to however many lessons are attended. Any outstanding balances will be mailed to your residence and are expected to be paid by the due date. Enrollment fees apply for those resuming lessons after taking time off.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!  I'm looking forward to teaching your child and fostering their gifts and creativity!

inspiring inner peace and joy through creative expression
